Heart-Lung Machine

Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is a technique in which a machine temporarily takes over the function of the heart and lungs during surgery, maintaining the circulation of blood and the oxygen content of the patient's body. It is also known as a heart-lung machine. Its components include pumps, oxygenators, temperature regulators, and filters.

تعتمد أجهزة القلب والرئتين على تقنيةالمجازة القلبية الرئوية وهى تقنية تتولى فيها الألة مؤقتا وظيفة القلب و الرئتين أثناء الجراحةمما يحافظ على الدورة الدموية ومحتوى الأكسجين فى جسم المريض وتشتمل مكونات الجهاز على مضخات و أجهزة أكسجين ومنظمات درجات حرارة وفلاتر

It's commonly used in operations involving the heart. In many operations, the heart is arrested (stopped) because of the difficulty of operating on a beating heart. CPB is required to provide a bloodless field to increase visibility. The machine pumps blood and an oxygenator, allows RBCs to pick up oxygen, and release carbon dioxide.

يستخدم الجهاز عادة فى عمليات القلب فى كثير من العمليات يتوقف القلب بسبب صعوبة العمل على القلب النابض تستخدم الأجهزة لتوفير مجال غير دموى مما يتيح رؤية أفضل تضخ الألة الدم و الأكسجين وتسمح لكرات الدم الحمراء بإلتقاط الأكسجين وإطلاق ثانى أكسيد الكربون

 
The surgeon places a cannula (a tube that is inserted into the body for delivery or removal of fluid) in a major vein to withdraw blood from the body, which is then filtered, and oxygenated before it is returned to the body by a mechanical pump. A cannula is also used to return oxygenated blood and is inserted in a major artery.

يضع الجراح كانيولا (أنبوب يتم إدخاله في الجسم لإيصال أو إزالة السوائل)

في وريد رئيسي لسحب الدم من الجسم  ثم يتم ترشيحه وتزويده بالأكسجين قبل إعادته إلى الجسم بواسطة مضخة ميكانيكية  تُستخدم الكانيولا أيضًا لإعادة الدم المؤكسج ويتم إدخالها في شريان رئيسي.

The risks of heart and lung bypass include:
• Blood clots and bleeding
• Nerve injury
• Kidney injury
• Decreased lung and/or heart function.

تشمل مخاطر مجازة القلب والرئة ما يلي:

• جلطات دموية ونزيف
• إصابة العصب
• إصابة الكلى
• انخفاض وظائف الرئة (و / أو )القلب.
